Bolton Hospital opens second Covid ward to cope with demand - one patient is just 19

The M.E.N. understands that there are now 49 patients being treated for the virus at the hospital in Farnworth, an increase from 41 on Tuesday (May, 25).

Nine of those being treated are currently in critical care and one patient is believed to be just 19 years old. It is thought that the decision to open a second ward for coronavirus patients in Bolton was due to a large number of younger, unvaccinated patients being admitted.
