Boris Johnson does not rule out return of coronavirus lockdowns

The Prime Minister conceded it may be necessary to reintroduce measures in 'very exceptional circumstances' such as the arrival of a new variant.

The Prime Minister, who has previously spoken of the roadmap being a 'cautious but irreversible approach', today said he 'hoped' it would be irreversible, adding: "Obviously we must rule nothing out".
