A man has been arrested after a suspicious package sparked a bomb scare at a Covid-19 vaccine production plant in north Wales.
The suspicious package was reported to have been received at the facility, in Wrexham, yesterday morning, Kent Police said. A 53-year-old man from Chatham has been arrested on suspicion of sending the package and remains in custody as inquiries continue.
There is no evidence to suggest there is an ongoing threat, police said. The UK's only Covid-19 vaccine bottling plant, which employs about 400 people, was evacuated following the discovery of a suspect package, and production had to be stopped for hours until the Army's investigation was complete.
