Sad news for theatre lovers. It was announced today that Broadway will remain closed until September 6. The famous theatre district was shut down on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The plan was originally to reopen on April 12 but that was pushed back to June 7. Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, confirmed the new end date in a statement on Tuesday. ‘While all Broadway shows would love to resume performances as soon as possible, we need to ensure the health and well-being of everyone who comes to the theatre – behind the curtain and in front of it – before shows can return,’ said Charlotte.
