The Cabinet Committee on Covid-19 will meet this evening to consider what action should be taken to stem the spike in Covid-19 infections here.
Yesterday, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said he was "extremely concerned" with the latest data, and that "nothing can be ruled out" when it comes to the government's response.
The Cabinet Committee on Covid-19 is high-powered - with the three Coalition leaders attending, along with the Ministers for Health, Finance and Public Expenditure and other ministers.
It has been charged with making a recommendation on what action should be taken to reverse the increase in Covid-19 infections, ahead of a full Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
