The Cabinet is today expected to finalise the date on which all pubs can reopen, which is likely to happen later this month.
It comes as publicans, hoping to reopen their premises, yesterday protested outside the offices of some Government ministers Taoiseach Micheál Martin and ministers will today decide when bars that do not serve food can open their doors again.
They will consider a range of dates from 14 to 28 September. The draft Government guidelines, which were drawn up in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, were circulated to vintners' groups last weekend.
They are broadly the same as those that have been brought in for pubs where food is being served. These include keeping customer records for contact tracing purposes and time slots
