Care workers given immediate pay rise for their 'hugely valued' efforts

Social care staff in Scotland will get an immediate pay rise to reflect their “hugely valued” efforts. The 3.3 per cent lift is being backdated to the beginning of this month now instead of waiting for negotiations to end later this year.

Health Secretary Jeane Freeman said: “Scotland’s dedicated social care workers are on the frontline of our national pandemic response.
