DELAWARE COUNY - It's been nearly 100 years since his execution, but the family of one Pennsylvania boy are still maintaining his innocence.

Alexander McClay Williams was a 16-year-old student at Glen Mills School in Delaware County when he was accused of murdering 33-year-old Vida Robare.Robare, a "house matron" at the school, was stabbed 47 times with an ice pick in a case that made headlines across the country.

Williams, who was doing chores unsupervised at the time of the murder, confessed to the crime three times without an attorney or parent present, according to reports.

He was arrested on October 10, 1930, and executed 243 days later on June 8, 1931. To this day, Williams remains the youngest person executed in Pennsylvania."I feel like the state of Pennsylvania murdered him," said Williams' niece Osceola Purdue.It is believed that the teen was wrongly accused and coerced to confess; and now the case heads back to court with new details that could clear his name."This guilty verdict was decided before the case even began," said Sam Lemon, the great-grandson of Williams' trial attorney.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - MARCH 06: Gritty holds a sign welcoming Bryce Harper to Philadelphia during the game between the Washington Capitals and the Philadelphia Flyers on March 6, 2019 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.(Photo by Andy Lewis/Icon S PHILADELPHIA - Inflation, rising crime and COVID-19 are just some of the things stressing Americans, but a new study found that Philadelphia is one of the most stressed cities in the country. The study conducted by WalletHub determined which cities in America are the most and least stressed by factors including business hours, divorce rates, suicide rates and unemployment rates. The study included over 180 cities, including local places such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Jersey City, and Wilmington. Philadelphia ranked at number 5 out of 182 cities, making it one of the most stressed in the country.  Although Philadelphia's family stress ranked high at a score of 46 and health and safety stress ranked at 39, financial and work stress in the city ranked tremendously low.A separate study, conducted by the American Psychological Association, placed Philadelphia as the 9th most stressed city and noted Philadelphians are stressed about traffic congestion, poverty levels and divorce rates. A new study found that Philadelphia is the ninth most stressed city in the United States.

David Elmakayes, 26, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for blowing up an ATM in North Philadelphia during civil unrest in 2020.  PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for blowing up an ATM during the civil unrest in spring 2020. According to United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams, 26-year-old David Elmakayes was given the sentence and three years of supervised release for "using an explosive device to damage an ATM machine and for illegally possessing a firearm." Elmakayes was charged with malicious damage of property with an explosive device, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and related charges on June 18, 2020. Officials say on the night of June 3, 2020, he used an explosive device to damage an ATM on the 200 block of East Westmoreland Street in North Philadelphia. FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports.According to authorities, at the time of his arrest, Elmakayes also had three more explosive devices in his possession along with a .32 caliber pistol. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES"This defendant took advantage of a volatile situation on the streets of Philadelphia to commit a dangerous act that could have injured many people," Williams said. "Damaging property with an explosive device and illegally carrying a firearm are federal crimes which our Office will aggressively prosecute.
