England's centrally contracted cricketers have stepped forward by making a £500,000 donation to help the game in its battle with Covid19.
Despite being offered their contracts in full by the ECB earlier this week, the players have decided to make the donation that is the equivalent of a 20 percent pay cut for the next three months.
England's women have also agreed to take a pay cut to their salaries for the next three months in an act of worthy generosity.
The money from the men is an upfront donation from the England Player Partnership pot which would have been distributed to the players for things like commercial appearances.
