LOS ANGELES - Major airline companies in the U.S. are canceling dozens of flights ahead of Christmas due to staffing shortages caused by the COVID-19 omicron variant.
As of Friday morning, more than 50 flights were canceled out of Los Angeles International Airport, including at least 25 United flights and 22 Delta flights.
LAX was also reporting 65 flight delays on Friday.Holiday traveling can already be a headache excluding a global pandemic. While getting your flight canceled in the midst of a holiday trip can be chaotic and overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world.
While a canceled flight is the last thing anyone traveling during the holiday season wants to hear, there is a silver lining; Department of Transportation.
