Rob Cross has joined the legions whose lives have been turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic – after revealing his grandfather was among the victims.
Former PDC world champion Cross, who shot to fame by winning the 2018 title at Alexandra Palace, says the ordeal has been “harrowing” and “heartbreaking.” The world No.4 has moved his grieving grandmother into the family home near Hastings to look after her along with his wife, Georgia, who is expecting the couple's fourth child.
Cross has pledged to join the PDC Home Tour, the first live sport to beat national lockdown by streaming games from the players' own homes.
