ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health released new coronavirus data following the holiday Saturday.Officials said that new data would not come out on New Year’s Day.
Before the break in reports, the Florida Department of Health disclosed in statement tweeted on its HealthyFla site that evidence of a new and apparently more contagious coronavirus strain first seen in England has been detected in a Martin County man with no recent travel history.Florida has evidence of the first identified case of the UK COVID-19 variant in Martin County.
The individual is a male in his 20s with no history of travel. The Department is working with the CDC on this investigation.
