Idris Elba suggested quarantine could be an annual event, following his recovery from Covid-19 earlier this year. The 47-year-old Luther star tested positive for coronavirus during filming in Mexico but managed to recover from the virus after several weeks.

Discussing the global lockdown, Idris insisted an annual quarantine could serve as a reminder of those affected by the virus.

Speaking to the Associated Press, he said: "I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time.

Remember each other. I really do. "I think it's… other species use it. It's called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn't tick on your time." Idris' wife, model Sabrina Dhowre Elba, 29, also tested positive
