coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Scotland, the Scottish Government has announced. A further 934 people have tested positive for the virus overnight bringing the total number of cases to 111,546 across the country.
The death toll for Scotland now stands at 4,283 since the start of the pandemic in March. A total of 1,061 people are currently receiving hospital treatment of which 58 are in intensive care.It comes as tighter coronavirus restrictions will be extended across Scotland from Boxing Day.Level 4 measures will apply to all of mainland Scotland with island communities placed into Level 3 from one minute past midnight on Boxing Day.The First Minister introduced new measures to combat a new potent strain of the virus identified down.
