Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam said on Thursday that there were now 40,190 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada and 1,974 deaths.
She said there have been more than 620,000 people tested, with just over 6.5 per cent testing positive. Tam said despite the ongoing pandemic, she praised the technology that has allowed scientists worldwide to collaborate on tackling the coronavirus in a more connected way than in pandemics of the past..
