Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said on Wednesday that there were now 27,557 cases of COVID-19 in the country, including 954 deaths.
More than 462,000 tests have been conducted with about six per cent of those testing positive. Despite this, she said based on discussions with epidemiological data and compared to late March where the number of cases were doubling every few days, they are now doubling over the course of 10 days.
