Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the leaders of Canada’s provinces and territories spoke by phone on Friday night to discuss how to go about reopening parts of the nation’s economy.
As Global’s David Akin reports, an important factor is that provinces must have flexibility go about reopening in their own ways, but the leaders also discussed common practices needed across Canada such as increasing testing capacity.
Also discussed was the fact that when businesses open up, many will need equipment to protect employees but the premiers acknowledged this is a concern given the ongoing need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care workers.
