Coronavirus Scotland: Ayrshire on brink of 1,000 confirmed cases of disease

Ayrshire is on the brink of hitting 1,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus,  new figures from the Scottish Government show.The number of people with the virus in the region now stands at 995 up seven from yesterday.The amount of patients with COVID-19 in hospital remains unchanged at 29.The number of people in intensive care at midnight with confirmed or suspected coronavirus is under five.The figures were released on the back of Nicola Sturgeon announcing a range of measures to ease Scotland out of lockdown earlier today.The First Minister told the Scottish Parliament that lockdown will be slowly lifted in four phases.Across Scotland 2,221 people have died from the disease - a rise of 37 from yesterday.A total of 14,856 people in Scotland
