Corrie's Maureen Lipman making Cobbles comeback after Covid vaccine 'sabbatical'

Evelyn Plummer is set to return to Corrie’s cobbles, as actress Maureen Lipman has had her first Covid jab. The actress took a “sabbatical” from the ITV soap but will return to filming once she’s had the second dose of the vaccine.

The 74-year-old had a “quick and efficient” first dose of the jab on Tuesday, she said. Making the most of her time off, BT ad star Maureen has been passing on her wealth of acting experience to her eight-year-old granddaughter and five-year-old grandson, including supervising them with voice exercises and improvisations. “I wrote them a little play: The Gorilla and the Unicorn,” she says of their “hysterical” drama sessions. “We performed it in the garden in Ealing in full costume and set. “Everybody adored it.”
