The Department of Health has been notified of 348 new cases of Covid-19. The number of people in intensive care units is 13, which is unchanged from yesterday.
There are 41 people being treated in hospital for the virus. The department advised that daily case numbers may change due to future data review, validation and update.
Earlier, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said the Government will consider giving spare AstraZeneca vaccines to over-18s if advised to do so by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC).
Mr Varadkar said Ireland will have more AstraZeneca vaccines than it needs in the coming weeks and that NIAC is currently considering if it could offer them to younger people who are awaiting vaccination.
