HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh reported 21 covid-19 cases on Thursday, taking the state's tally to 132. The state had recorded 67 cases on Wednesday.
It was not ascertained if all the new cases are linked to people who attended the religious gathering at the Markaz Nizamuddin in Delhi last month.
According to a media bulletin issued by the state government on Thursday, of the total 132 cases, Guntur and Nellore districts had the highest cases at 20 each.
Guntur city has a considerable Muslim population (believed to be around 20%). The state government has so far collected samples of over 700 people who had gone to Delhi to attend the Markaz and those who came in contact with them.
