'There is a constant fear of running out of something': A mum explains why free school meals are a lifeline
hereTwo of her children are eligible for free school meals, and she says that if the vouchers hadn't continued over the summer, she did not know what she was going to do.In March, just before lockdown started, she had a change in her circumstances, and had to apply for a new Universal Credit claim.Although she was given a two week grace period, she had to start the claim in April.Due to the length of time it takes to process, she spent five weeks with virtually nothing coming in. She says school meal vouchers have been a 'godsend' because without them, she would have had just £48 a week - £10 of which goes straight onto her electricity meter - to cover everything for herself and the three children."There was no way we could have done it

Barcelona 'inform' Man Utd they must pay Ansu Fati's release clause to seal transfer
Manchester United have reportedly been knocked back again in their efforts to sign Ansu Fati after having a massive £135million offer turned down by Barcelona.Rumours emerged earlier this month that Jorge Mendes had contacted Barca’s hierarchy on behalf of United to enquire about Fati’s availability, tabling an initial offer worth €100m (£90m).That was rejected and it seems the Spanish champions will not budge for an offer worth almost £50m more than the first one.According to The Times, a second offer added an additional €50m (£45m) in performance-related add-ons, taking the total value to £135m, but the Spaniards want more. The report claims that Barca told the intermediary working on behalf of United that Fati can only leave if his €170m

Aftermath of India-China deadly border clashes uncertain
NEW DELHI – As some commentators clamored for revenge, India's government was silent Wednesday on the fallout from clashes with China's army in a disputed border area in the high Himalayas that the Indian army said claimed 20 soldiers' lives.Indian security forces said neither side fired any shots in the clash in the Ladakh region late Monday.
