Maharashtra government on Sunday ordered to impose complete lockdown next weekend from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday, said NCP minister Nawab Malik.Along with that, the state government also extended the night curfew in the state. The night curfew will be put in place from 8 pm to 7 am.He said that night curfew will continue and prohibitory orders issued under section 144 will be force during the day time during the week.To recall, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier instructed officials to impose a state-wide night curfew from Sunday, March 28, to curb rising cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).Only essential services will be permitted.

PM Modi convenes high-level meeting to review covid-19, vaccination drive

NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday convened a high-level meeting to review the covid-19 related issues and ongoing vaccination drive in the country, people with knowledge of the matter in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.All senior officers including cabinet secretary Rajeev Gauba, principal secretary to the PM Pramod Kumar Mishra, Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan and NITI Aayog member-health Dr Vinod Paul are participating in the meeting, people mentioned above said.The concern over the evolving pandemic in India becomes obvious with the country registering 93,249 new daily cases in the last 24 hours.
