The fear of coming in contact with common touch-points amid the Covid-19 outbreak has sparked a rush across Indian offices to replace fingerprint sensors with facial recognition system to mark attendance.
It comes with another benefit apart from marking attendance – thermal scanning to check body temperatures to minimise possibility of spread of the infection.
A leading telecom operator wants to replace 650 fingerprint-based attendance system with facial recognition system across India, while another large steel producing company in the country is considering a similar move, according to industry sources. “From the very first week of March, the number of enquiries related to face recognition devices have increased.
