BENGALURU: The Karnataka government has identified and screened 1,000 out of the 1,500 people who had either attended or are associated with the Tablighi Jamaat, a religious congregation in Delhi.
Around 11 people from Bidar district have tested positive so far. The department had collected 200 swab samples and has tested 100 so far. "Based on inputs given by police and central government, nearly 1000 people linked to Tablighi Jamaat, Nizamuddin have been screened by health department till morning.
Out of them six have been found symptomatic," Pankaj Kumar Pandey, commissioner for health, family welfare and Ayush services said in a statement. "Out of all identified Tablighi Jamat members, 19 are foreigners," Pandey added.
