ERNAKULAM: Kerala has rejected 55% of the over 1.4 lakh requests from the public to commute during the lockdown. The figures show how the state has been able to maintain stay-at-home orders efficiently.
This was first reported by regional newspaper Malayala Manorama website on Wednesday. From this week onward, Kerala had devised an online system to get people to self-certify where they are going, if they want to venture out during the lockdown, pending approval from the police.
Passes are being issued through a mobile SMS after a person registers and supplies the details of travel on a government website and the same is approved by the police.
