The United States is entering what a senior official warned would be the "hardest" week of the coronavirus crisis. With health authorities recording 1,200 new deaths from the virus in a 24 hour period, the Surgeon General, Jerome Adams, said the country is facing its 'Pearl Harbour' moment and '9/11' moment, except that this time the impact would not be localised and will be 'a national catastrophe'.
The number of cases in the US has reached 337,000 with over 9,600 deaths. "This is going to be the hardest and the saddest week of most Americans' lives, quite frankly" said Mr Adams.
