Covid fight latest as Public Health Scotland confirm 2,434 new cases with 2.7m booster jabs delivered

Another 2,434 Covid cases have been diagnosed in Scotland while a further 11 people who contracted the virus have died.Data has been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.Nationally, there are 536 patients being treated in hospital which is a rise of 21 from yesterday.

There are currently 40 people with the disease being treated in ICUs. The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 116 to 58,805.Of the new cases, 51 were from East Ayrshire, 36 in South Ayrshire and 29 attributed to North Ayrshire.A total of 814,359 positive tests have now been recorded from 3.865 million tests carried
