Nicola Sturgeon is set to give an update on the state of the coronavirus pandemic in Scotland later today. The First Minister will address MSPs in a virtual sitting of the Scottish Parliament about what measures may be taken to halt the spread of the Omicron variant.
Cases of the deadly virus have shot up in recent days with the highest levels ever being recorded over the Christmas period.
Professor Jason Leitch revealed on Tuesday that cases may not peak in Scotland until "mid to late January". It comes as Scots were forced to spend Christmas in isolation after PCR Covid test results still haven't came back after five days.
