Covid testing resumes in Bolton schools as Indian variant spreads among teenagers

In line with guidance from the Department of Education, only pupils aged 12 and above are being tested. All secondary school pupils and college students in England are being asked to take twice weekly lateral flow (LFD) tests at home.

Health bosses say one in three people with Covid-19 suffer no symptoms, but regular testing helps identify those who may be spreading the virus without realising it, so they can self-isolate to keep others safe.
