Centre on Thursday notified that a decision regarding vaccination of children will be taken on the basis of the recommendation by an expert committee.

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed vaccination of all eligible children at the earliest with “special campaigns" in schools is a priority for the Government.

As per sources, the vaccination of children will be discussed in a National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) meeting scheduled this Friday.

India's drug regulator, DCGI, had on Tuesday granted emergency use authorisation for Biological E's COVID-19 vaccine Corbevax for those aged five to 12 years and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for children in the age group of six to 12 years.

Police: 3 killed in separate daytime shootings in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say three people were killed in two different shooting that happened minutes apart Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 3000 block of Ella street just before 2 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Police say a 44-year-old man was shot at least seven times and a 40-year-old man suffered a lethal gunshot wound to the head. The younger victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the second victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died, police said. Minutes later, in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga section were called to the 1600 block of West Erie Avenue where police say a 20-year-old man was shot to death. DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Bucks County officials announce an arrest of a 56-year-old man in connection with in an April 1991 cold case homicide.Robert Atkins, a 56-year-old man from Falls Township, in Bucks County, voluntarily turned himself in to Bucks County officials, after a "tireless" investigation by Bucks County Detectives and a recommendation by a grand jury.Atkins is charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of second degree murder, two counts of robbery and seven counts of arson in a case dating to 1991.Officials stated the grand jury concluded that Atkins murdered 35-year-old Joy Hibbs on April 19, 1991, at her home in Croydon. She had been stabbed repeatedly and was likely asphyxiated.
