BENGALURU : Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that the Covid-19 situation in the state is under control.
The statement comes amid apprehensions that a fourth wave might be peeking in Karnataka. Bommai also mentioned that the Karnataka government is going to enhancing vaccination drive, increase testing, and enforce appropriate behavior at public places. "We will be holding a large-scale vaccination drive for those between the age group of 6-12 years, those up to 18 years, and those above 60 years of age (precautionary dose).
Patients at the hospitals including ILI and SARI cases will be tested and if anyone reports positive their samples will be sent for genomic sequencing," Bommai said.
Bommai's statement comes after he attended a meeting along with other Chief ministers of India and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wherein the PM took stock of the Covid-19 situation in the country.
