A dad who died after jumping over a barrier at a Turkish airport was suffering a mental health crisis, an inquest has heard.
Andrew Westlake, 29, was on his way back from a holiday with his partner and baby daughter when he jumped over a barrier and fell 10 metres to the ground at Dalaman Airport in May 2018.
Mr Westlake was said to be in a state of "despair" when he jumped but it is "unlikely" he was aware of the consequences of his actions, Coroner James Thompson said during a hearing at Durham and Darlington Coroner’s Court.
Mr Westlake, of Annfield Plain, County Durham, had been on holiday with his family when he was asked to leave the Grand Aquarium Hotel after a series of rows.
