Dáil to hear Covid-19's impact on mental health funding

The Dáil's Special Committee on Covid-19 Response will hear from representatives from the Mental Health Commission and voluntary mental health groups this morning.

TDs will hear concerns about funding and the impact of the pandemic on people using services. Chief Executive of the Mental Health Commission John Farrelly will warn about the potential impact of a second wave of the virus on service users.

He will tell politicians that guidance on testing at residential facilities needs to be put in place. He will also detail the impact on residents of mental health facilities - in particular on those not allowed visit to family or the wider community.
