DANCING On Ice pro Alexander Demetriou has announced he's separated from wife Carlotta Edwards after he was linked to Irish beauty Maura Higgins on the ITV show.

Carlotta's husband Alexander shared a statement on Instagram today that confirmed the news after The Sun revealed the rift in their marriage.

Carlotta and Alex's marriage has now ended after he grew close to Love Island stunner Maura, 29, his partner for the last series.

Writing on Instagram today, he said: "I'm Sorry I have been quiet on social media recently but it's been a tough time for me personally. "Carlotta and I have finally separated." The 28-year-old added: "Although it saddens me that we can no longer be together, I feel this is best for both of us.
