The UK-French border is set to reopen tomorrow after a deal was finally reached between the two governments following two days of chaos which has seen around 3,000 lorries stranded in Kent.
Freight and some passenger services will be allowed to resume between the two countries - as long as people travelling to France produce a negative Covid-19 test.
The border was shut on Sunday following the discovery of a mutant coronavirus strain, which spreads faster than previous versions - raising fears of food shortages.
It could still take days to clear the backlog of lorries stuck on the M20 and in Manston Airfield Drivers are still urged not to travel to Kent until further notice, as a mass testing programme gets underway.
