Denise Van Outen volunteers to sew scrubs for frontline NHS staff during pandemic as she insists she won’t ‘point fingers’ over lack of PPE

Denise Van Outen has volunteered to sew scrubs for NHS staff working on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic. Teaming up with charitable initiative Bespoke Interiors, she aims to help make over 1,600 gowns with NHS approved material.

The UK has been struggling with a PPE shortage amid the crisis with frontline staff having to work without enough face masks, gowns, aprons or respiratory equipment.

The TV star said she doesn’t want to ‘point fingers’ over the shortage, instead choosing to try and ‘make a difference’. Speaking on Yahoo UK’s Up Close and Socially Distant, Denise encouraged others to get involved: ‘It’s nice that we’ve been able to play a small part.
