Tyson Fury ’s promoter Bob Arum has ruled out the possibility of Deontay Wilder accepting step-aside money to allow an undisputed showdown with Anthony Joshua to go ahead next.
Wilder has already activated the rematch clause in his contract with Fury, who ripped the WBC heavyweight strap from his grasp by dismantling him in Las Vegas on February 22.
Talk of a mega-fight between British rivals Fury and Joshua, who holds the other three recognised titles in the division, has therefore reignited - with the unified champion’s promoter Eddie Hearn suggesting that Wilder could be offered money to step aside and allow an undisputed battle to commence.
