Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to meet with Timo Werner before accelerating his plans to sign the RB Leipzig forward. Klopp is a long-time admirer of the Germany international, who is keen to take the next step in his career and sign for a Champions League-competing team.

Werner is also a work in progress, which appeals to the Liverpool boss, and is available for cheaper than other players of his ilk; Jadon Sancho, Kylian Mbappe.

According to Sport Bild, Klopp wants to meet with Werner for a private chat to get to know him better and convince him of his vision.

The report states that this meeting would have likely already taken place had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic grinding the world to a halt.
