Determined mum wears son's Buzz Lightyear helmet to shop in search of his favourite food

Mum Kelly Hogan Painter desperately needed to get out to the shops to stock up on her son's favourite food. Her two-year-old Silas has autism and severe food sensory issues, and she was determined to get him the chicken nuggets he loves 'even if her life depended on it'.

With no face masks in the house, the 35-year-old knew her husband wasn't going to let her out of the house without one during the coronavirus pandemic - so she was forced to improvise.

The mum reached for son's Buzz Lightyear helmet, checked it fitted and snapped down the visor on her Toy Story protective gear.
