Staff from disability and mental health services who are not included in the current roll out of vaccines will be included in the programme as supply increases, according to a submission paper seen by RTÉ News that was sent from Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly to the Oireachtas Committee on Disability Matters this week.
The aim, according to the document, is to vaccinate staff in disability services more widely from mid-February. It envisages that all staff should be vaccinated by the end of March.
The Oireachtas Committee requested the submission due to concerns over the vulnerability of persons with disability in the current stage of the Covid-19 pandemic.
