DJ, 30, who died from Covid-19 after leukaemia battle told NHS to 'save someone else'

A DJ who bravely fought leukaemia for two years and later contracted coronavirus succumbed to the disease after telling NHS doctors to "save someone else's life." Heroic Liam Downing tragically died from cancer of the blood and Covid_19 days after celebrating his 30th birthday.

He had been told there was "nothing more" doctors could do to cure his cancer and opted to spend the rest of his days at home.

The family had no idea how much longer Liam had to live but had hoped to still have a few more months with him. Liam's devastated sister Laura said he had told her he did not want to be a strain on the NHS and said medics should "save someone else's life." Sadly, on March 16t Liam was admitted to hospital with suspected coronavirus.
