Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic some members of the public have taken it upon themselves to start wearing face masks.
Talk has since turned to whether this should be mandatory when people head out for their daily exercise or essential shop. This isn't something that has yet been recommended by the goverment.
They are said to be still considering evidence from experts on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) and whether wearing face masks should be recommended.
Public Health England (PHE) recommends masks for NHS staff and social care workers but does not suggest other people wear them outside.
