23, officials announced Wednesday evening, Aug. 26.According to a news release from Matthew Krueger, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the FBI will conduct the investigation in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation and other state authorities, and it will be overseen by prosecutors from the U.S.

Jacob Blake’s father says son paralyzed from waist down after Kenosha police shooting

In a new interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, the father of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man shot in the back seven times by police, says his son is paralyzed from the waist down.The father, also named Jacob Blake, told the publication that there are now “eight holes” in his son’s body. The Sun-Times indicates that there were eight shots, but the majority of news outlets, including Global News, are reporting seven, based on the eyewitness video.As for the reported paralysis, doctors aren’t sure if the injury is permanent, according to Blake’s father.

KENOSHA, Wis. - The father of a Black man who was shot, apparently in the back, by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, says his son was left paralyzed from the waist down.Jacob Blake's father told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was told his son was shot eight times during the Sunday evening confrontation with police, which was captured on cellphone video and led to two nights of unrest in the city between Milwaukee and Chicago.The father, who is also named Jacob Blake and who was driving from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Kenosha to be with his son, told the newspaper that he learned Sunday night that officers had shot his son eight times and that he saw the video of it online a few minutes later.Jacob Blake He said his son now has “eight holes”
