Dr Hilary Jones has issued a severe warning about lifting lockdown too soon amid fears that there could be a "second peak". Speaking to Lorraine Kelly as they celebrated VE Day on Good Morning Britain, the pair moved onto speculation as to what Prime Minister Boris Johnson would announce on Sunday.
Dr Hilary said: "The disparity between what different people are saying and making people think, oh it's nearly time to go back to work and do things to do. "And we can't be.
We're still seeing a large number of deaths, a large number of cases. The virus is still out there. "We can't risk going back too soon and there being a second wave and then a second lockdown, which would be so demoralising and overwhelming the NHS - who are already tired.
