Good Morning Britain 's Dr Hilary Jones spoke about Kawasaki disease on the ITV show today. The GMB doctor spoke to presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about its connection to coronavirus that affects children.
He said: "Kawasaki disease has always been around. It's a rare condition that affects around eight in 100,000 children. "The cause is unknown, but it causes an inflammation of blood vessels. "What we're seeing now is a different sort of syndrome, it's similar to Kawasaki disease and it's thought to be a delayed immune reaction to Covid-19." He continued: "So the children who have had this once necessarily test positive for Covid-19, so do, but those that don't often have Covid-19 antibodies. "So they weren't acutely infected
