Dr Michael Mosley says doing 'less' exercise could make you fitter and healthier. The weight loss guru behind the Fast 800 diet said that getting your fitness fill in 'snack' form could be better for you.

In an Instagram post promoting his book Just One Thing, a collection of health tips and simple changes to help your mental and physical wellbeing, the dietician suggested breaking exercise up into "bite-sized chunks".

He said doing smaller amounts of exercise throughout the day is "just as good - if not better - for your health" than a longer workout. He suggested breaking daily exercise up into "bite-sized chunks, perhaps three lots of 10 minutes" was a good way to ensure you meet the recommended half an hour a day - and could be better for you. "The single reason most people cite for not exercising is lack of time," he explained. "And it certainly can be tricky to find the two and a half hours a week of moderately intense activity you need to meet the recommended guidelines." The doctor continued: "So why not try some 'exercise snacks'.
