Drone footage shows moorland burning 'like something from Mars'. A huge fire broke out at Rakes Moss, on the A628 Crowden to Glossop through the Woodhead Pass, just after 1pm on Thursday.
Firefighters have been battling the flames ever since. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Derbyshire Police's Drone Unit captured a view of the of the flames from above with a drone.
A tweet read: " Yesterday we were out assisting @manchesterfire and @DerbyshireFRS near to Chew Reservoir. "The drone footage was used by commanders to see the extent of the spreading fires.
