East Kilbride care home where 23 residents have died from coronavirus has been backed by the Care Inspectorate - despite urgent calls for an investigation.
Central Scotland Labour MSP Monica Lennon reported Whitehills Care Home to the regulatory body saying the “public deserved answers” over the shocking number of deaths and she “couldn’t ignore ongoing fears about safety” at the facility run by Thistle Healthcare Ltd.But inspectors visited on May 27 with public health staff - just two days after Ms Lennon made the complaint. And Whitehills is included in a fortnightly report which was presented to the Scottish Parliament yesterday. The report - which outlines a number of inspections at various facilities - praises Whitehills who it described.
