BBC bosses have confirmed EastEnders filming can start up again in June after parts of lockdown began lifting this week. The popular BBC One soap opera suspended filming in late March, adhering to the lockdown restrictions put in place by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Director of content at the BBC, Charlotte Moore, today confirmed the soap would return to filming next month – but with certain temporary adjustments in place.
Measures will be taken to protect the cast and crew, including banning the use of makeup artists and avoiding romantic scenes.
